Happy Memorial Day!

William had his very first camp out! We had a great time, wasn't warm enough to get to the beach like we planned, but still awesome :)

Six Months!

My little baby boy is a half a year old! He has changed so much in the past six months (obviously). We love watching him grow and change, it's something new every day. (Last night he scooched from one end of his crib to the other... I'm not ready for a mobile baby just yet.)

We celebrated William's 6 month birthday with some baby food! He started out his culinary adventures with some peas. They tasted pretty gross to me, but Will actually ate a pretty fair amount for his first bites of real food.

All the cool kids take pictures of their food. William will totally put this on Instagram one day.

William's mixed reactions to the peas:

Love you, little guy :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm so very thrilled and feel so lucky to be celebrating Mother's Day as a mama as well as a daughter this year. To all the wonderful mothers we know, Happy Mother's Day! I hope your Sunday is fantastic.

My Mother's Day gift William surprised me with at school!

This is one of my favorite pictures of William and I. The picture isn't even that great, but I just love it. It's one of those sweet, snuggly early morning moments that only parents and their littles share. My early morning work schedule makes moments like this rare, and I feel so lucky when they occur. :)

What's Going On

What's going on at the Butler house? I know this question is on your mind.

William is super duper enjoying this summery weather! We're finally starting to get out for walks and playing in the yard every day. Also.... those thighs! Those thighs were made to be shown off in shorts, it's just a fact. I could nibble on them all day!

Our good friends Ganesh and Srija are getting married in a few weeks, and they sent out the most amazing wedding invites! I felt like I was being invited to a fairy tale wedding!

It is wedding central at our house this summer! I feel like every summer either no one gets married or everyone under the sun gets married. I'm glad it's an everyone getting married kinda summer!

William needed some bigger onesies (again!) and I got out his little tiny baby onesies to compare. My baby is so big, now! Excuse me while I go cry in the corner. :)

Need a pick me up? Some baby adorableness to get you through the day? This video of William just might do the trick. If he doesn't melt your heart.... well.... he will. :)
It's kind of long, but I could stare at this kid all day! I tried rotating the video and it looked weirder than it did not rotated, so not rotated it is!

Green Dot Stables

I met up with some of my fantastic friends at a little slider joint in Detroit - Green Dot Stables. Why the restaurant has this name, I have no idea. Why the joint is decked out in jockey decor, clueless on that as well. What I can tell you is that this place makes the most amazing little "gourmet" sliders, and if you have the chance you need to go there. (Also, nothing is over $3!)  I may have eaten 5 sliders, one dessert slider and an order of truffle fries... but who's counting? (Yes, you read that right. Dessert slider. They have one with Nutella and marshmallow fluff and one with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Be still my heart)

Anywhere that suggests craft beer pairings for their sliders is my kind of place :)

My two favs of the evening - buffalo chicken and braised goat.

 Yup, that happened. Don't judge.

I believe there was some annoyance with my picture taking :)

This is my "OMG! I LOVE SLIDERS!" face

Mawage! Mawage is wot bwings us togedder too-day!

(If you do not "get" the title of this blog post.... we should probably have a discussion about our friendship :)

Last weekend my cousin, Marie married her wonderful fiance (now husband!) Nick. The wedding was lovely and we had such a super good time.

Marie is studying Japanese in school, she and the hubs will be doing a semester abroad in Japan soon (jealous!). In honor of their love of all things Japanese, they had a super classy Asian/cherry blossom theme going on. It was sooo pretty and the whole wedding was so wonderfully personal and them. You could just feel their personality poured into all the little details of the wedding, I loved it. (Plus, who can say no to a good spring roll? Right?)

All the guests hung wishes for the bride and groom on this tree. The tree had their initials carved into the trunk!

My family with my brother's girlfriend Alex... but it seems as though a chunk of my family is missing from this picture, including my brother. Hmm...
