Pumpkin Fun

Yesterday was full of pumpkiny fun at the Butler house.

We carved pumpkins, and Will explored pumpkin guts, which he loooooved. This was a surprise to me as he isn't always into messy or cold things.

at first he was all, "you expect me to touch this?" that face cracks me up :)

 extreme concentration

dave takes pumpkin carving quite seriously

the final product... spooooky! i think everyone and their brother carved pumpkins yesterday. my facebook feed was blowing up with pumpkins!

then we had will paint his pumpkin. he totally hated it. when i say he "painted" a pumpkin, i mean he happened to smear the paint around while pushing away the pumpkin. i never can tell what this kid is going to be into.

 tada!

and let us not forget about the very best part of pumpkin carving.

Eleven Months

Ooooh... our little guy is so big! Only one month left of having a baby and then we have a toddler on our hands. :)

This month, Will wasn't really interested in sitting in his chair. Climbing is clearly his jam now.

 making crazy razzing sounds

Will is such a mover and a shaker now, it was hard to get a decent picture of him! I'll have to buff up on my photography skills.

William is keeping us crazy busy now, I can't imagine what it's going to be like when he's walking! Every day with this little man is so fantastic, I can't believe our first year with him is already coming to an end!

Tub Painting!

Finger painting (or whole body painting...) in the tub was really fun and the easiest clean up ever! I put the tray in the tub thinking, "William will sit and finger paint on the tray". Clearly, it has been a long time since I painted with a baby... the first thing he did was pick up the tray and throw it :)

 elizabeth taylor? is that you?

all clean!

P.S. This is my 100th post. Yay!

Fall!

Oh, fall. I'm super glad you're here! I feel like this fall has been pretty awesome so far, the leaves are absolutely gorgeous and the weather has been beyond fantastic. I think it might have been 80 degrees yesterday, I slightly considered putting shorts on Will.

So far, to celebrate fall we have:

-Collected and explored leaves, Will cared about them for about 1 minute before crawling off to do something else :)

-Read one of my favorite fall books, "Leaf Man". Will also has cared about this activity for less than a minute each time I have tried to read it to him - oh babies. One day he'll love this book.

-Gone to the park to enjoy the great weather. Will mostly liked pushing the leaves on our blanket away from himself. (Away from him? Away from himself? Neither sound right to me. I need the Grammar Police.) You know those clothes went right into a big bowl of Oxyclean when we got home - he was so filthy after crawling around in the grass! He clearly had a good time, though!

Today was the very best fall activity of all - the pumpkin patch! Will helped pick out his very own pumpkin and just had a good old baby time checking out everything.

Will's favorite part of the day was actually the rock he's holding in the bottom right picture. He seriously loved that thing. Naturally, we brought it home for him.

Happy Anniversary!

Dave and I are celebrating our third anniversary today! (Technically no celebrating is going on today as Dave is working tonight)

These past 3 years have been the best of my life! I couldn't ask for a better guy.

Back when it all began:

so young! so skinny!

The day Dave proposed:

Oh hey, we're engaged...

The Big Day:

i think i cried our entire wedding day. i honestly wish i wasn't such a crier. or, maybe a more controlled crier. someone who can cry all gracefully with just a tear running down her face like a movie star. :)
