Trash Picking

Yesterday Hubby and I went to Plymouth's Art in the Park! For the past few years we've been noticing a decline in the vendors at Art in the Park - enough with the women peddling their Sentscy candles, enough with the chiropractors and window companies. We're here to see art! Well, this year, we got art! There were so many talented artists and crafters at Art in the Park this year, vendors we've seen in the past and brand new ones we'd love to see again! Good job, Plymouth!

Dave and I picked up a few things here and there at the art fair... many of the items are presents for other people, so they can't be shared on here. Boo! One vendor we just loved was Texas Trash and Treasures owned by Richard and Linda Hamilton of Carmine, TX. This talented couple goes "junking" for trash - bed springs, old wagons, lots of old tin, pop cans, beer caps, you name it - and they turn it into creative works of art! There were many things I wanted to purchase from them, I did get this cute little owl for Baby B's room and this pumpkin for Halloween time (I'm a sucker for pumpkins... what can I say?). Each piece was completely unique, so you got to choose the look and colors that you liked. best.

Despite the heat, Dave and I had a great time at Art in the Park - we're hoping next year proves to be as good as this year (and that we have a house so we have an excuse to buy some of the great stuff we saw! There were some great paintings that were just calling my name...)

Did you get any good finds at the art fair this year? :)
